About

This group is for Members of Causeway U3A who enjoy looking at and talking about items that hold special memories or connections for them. It is a sort of grown up “Show and tell”. At each meeting 3-5  members will bring along items and share their story and memories with everyone. The item  / artefact can be anything that means something to the speaker – an heirloom, a souvenir from a holiday, a gift, old household or farm equipment, a photograph, a diary, a letter, a poem, an item of clothing or even a bus ticket! This is a very relaxing and sociable group where everyone participates!  Interesting, educational and stimulating may also apply!

As a group we will keep a record of all the items and stories and then consider publishing them as blog or even a book – modelled on  Fintan O’Toole’s “A History of Ireland in 100 Objects”.

When the group is established, we will consider having talks by speakers on  antiques or collecting, visits to antique, collectors or craft fairs, etc.

Meetings take place on the Second Tuesday of the month from 10.30am to 12.30pm in the Sandel Centre, Mount Sandel, Coleraine.
